Public health promotes the health of people and the communities where they live, work and play.
On June 23rd, 2018, MASA will be hosting a Science Action Day at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. Community leaders/organizers and those interested in becoming leaders/organizers in their community are welcome to attend. The objective of the event is to provide a platform to bring community leaders and organizations together to share leadership and organizing skills, and for collaboration on issues affecting our city now, such as lead, and in the future.
On June 11th, 2017, MASA hosted their organization kickoff event at Anodyne Coffee Roasters in Walkers Point. This event was a celebration of the success of the March for Science and an introduction to the mission of the Milwaukee Area Science Advocates. The event was free to the public and activities included science demonstrations by local organizations, a presentation by MASA, voter registration and postcard writing, a panel discussion, a silent auction, a kids science zone, and live music.
The objective of the panel discussion was focused on the implications of climate change for science education, public health and sustainability.
