What We Do

Our objective is to increase community engagement in science education, public health, and sustainability.

Science Alive

The Science Alive program provides hands-on, science-based experiences for schools, community centers, and public venues.

Unleaded

The Unleaded program increases awareness about lead in our environment and works to reduce lead exposure through lead education, sharing community resources, and collaborating with community partners.

Urban Garden Project

The Urban Garden Project empowers urban communities to sustainably grow their own food and make food choices that benefit their health and the environment.

Help advocate for science in the Milwaukee Area!

Milwaukee Area Science Advocates (MASA) is 100% volunteer run and relies on passionate and motivated people like you! We’re a friendly group of scientists and science enthusiasts and we’d love your help in the following teams:

  • Community Engagement – event & program planning, writing, tabling
  • Marketing – social media, editing, graphic design
  • Operations – IT, human resources, recruiting
  • Finance – fundraising, bookkeeping, grant writing
  • Event Volunteer – day of event assistance

Please fill out the form below to share how you’re interested in volunteering. Join us at our monthly Community Meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month at Full of Beans Cafe from 7-9pm!

*We are actively working to accommodate minors - please check back! Volunteers under 18 accompanied by a legal guardian may be considered.
